Stuart's accomplishments include six top ten hits, one platinum and five gold albums, and four
Grammy Awards.  He also received the Lifetime Achievement Award for Performer by the American
Music Association.  He has collaborated with virtually every major roots music figure of his era, from
Lester Flatt to Bob Dylan.  Stuart has produced records for some of the most distinguished artists
working today, and many famous names have chosen to record his songs.  Stuart's energetic
enthusiasm extends outside the music industry, yielding impressive work as a photographer, writer,
collector and arts executive.

Stuart, born and raised in Philadelphia, Mississippi, entered the music business at the age of 12
and has been going strong ever since.  In 1978, at the young age of 20, he was invited to become
a member of the Grand Ole Opry.  He has served six terms as President of the County Music Hall of
Fame and Museum's Board of Directors.  Marty is married to the "Sweetheart of the Grand Ole
Opry", Connie Smith.  Marty Stuart's music bridges the strong traditional/bluegrass/gospel past of
country music with the new rockabilly, Southern Rock, contemporary sound.
